Boy's Brigade in Brunei

The 1st Brunei company was founded on 19th July 1964 by Mr. Charlie A. Keasberry at St.Andrew's Church, BAndar Seri Begawan.

It was in 1958 that Mr. Charlie heard about the "Blue Boys". He thought they were talking about the boys who were working in the hotels attending to the needs of customers.

When he came home from Penang in the year 1960, he heard his senior officers talking about the "Blue Boys". He soon recieved a letter from his friend asling kindly whether he can donate to the Boy's Brigade. Soon, Mr.Charlie asked his friend what was the Boy's Brigade. His friend told him that he can write a letter to Mr. S.P. Chua to send Mr. Charlie few books about the Boy's Brigade.

True to his friends words, Mr. S.P. Chua sent him a number of books and leaflets about the B.B.

So by 1963, he started consulting with the Chaplain of ST.Andrew's Church and asked whether it was all right with the church to organise B.B. movement in Brunei.

Soon the 1st Brunei Company was a reality by 19th July 1964 after consulting with the principal of St.Andrew's School. He was helped by Mr. Philip Lim and Mr. Joseph Chin.

Today the B.B. meets every Sunday from 1.30-5.30 p.m. every Sunday under the captaincy of Mr. WAlter Lee.
